The Vocational Rehabilitation Association of Canada, formerly named the Canadian Association of Rehabilitation Professionals, is a national association representing some 2600 members across Canada. The Members work as rehabilitation professionals to provide unique services and supports to persons with disabilities/disadvantages and their families. They practice in areas such as assessments, affective/adjustive counseling, vocational and rehabilitation counseling, disability management, rehabilitation case management, training and job finding/placement. They facilitate, manage and implement individual rehabilitation plans to ensure effective vocational outcomes.

The Association developed the first Canadian Code of Ethics for Rehabilitation Professionals in 2002 which is unique in meeting the multidisciplinary needs of its Members in applying ethical principles to rehabilitation practices.

Professional members have a Registered Rehabilitation Professional ( RRP ), and/or Canadian Certified Rehabilitation Counsellor ( CCRC ), and/or Certified Vocational Evaluator ( CVE ) designation.

The Atlantic Regional Society of the Canadian Association of Rehabilitation Professionals was formed in 1996 at a founding meeting in Charlottetown, PEI - the Birthplace of Canada ! All activities are governed by a voluntary Board of Directors, duly elected at each Annual General Meeting, who operate within the Society's By-Laws. Professional and Associate Members of CARP National are automatically members of CARP Atlantic, if they work and reside in Atlantic Canada.
